What Walnut & Wool collects, what it does not, and why.
Analytics
We use Plausible for traffic analytics. It is cookieless, does not track you across sites, and collects no personal data. There is no Google Analytics on this site and no advertising pixel.
Affiliate link clicks
When you click through to a merchant, we record that the click happened: which page it came from, which position on that page, a coarse device type (mobile, tablet, desktop), the country your request came from, and the referring page.
We do not store your IP address. To tell repeat clicks apart within a day we store a one-way hash derived from your IP address, browser, and the date. It cannot be reversed, and it changes every day, so it does not accumulate into a profile of you.
Merchants
Once you land on a merchant’s site you are subject to their privacy policy, not ours. Affiliate networks typically set a cookie so the merchant can attribute a purchase back to us. We never see your order details, your payment information, or your name — only that an order happened and what commission it earned.
What we do not do
We do not sell data. We do not run advertising. We do not have accounts, logins, or a mailing list, so there is nothing to leak.
